Thank you for the response!
Does that mean that those users cannot register at all? But other users, other than you, can still do that, can they?
Yes it seems to be a mix of people, some can register and some can't. Almost all have had a session expired warning, and I sometimes get it myself after logging in but when I do the site continues to function normally.
It seems to happen on both chrome and edge but not firefox as far as I am aware
Does the website use some third party caching or security software that could cause this issue?
It does have something called admin tools, but the error occurs after that has been uninstalled, I am not aware of any other extentions for caching or security.
Are there any errors displayed or written into the PHP error log?
I honestly wouldn't know where to look on that one?! I am still trying to get to grips with everything![Smiley :)]()
Does the website use the latest version of the paid third party extension JomSocial? According to JED, the latest version is 4.9.2, released six months ago, but it is possible later versions have been released.
Its 4.9.3 released in May![Smiley :)]()

I have tried to run the forum post tool but I get the error: "You do not have permission to view this resource. Please contact the Site Administrator."
Did you follow the FPA instructions, uploaded the file fpa-en.php into the main Joomla folder and then browsed to it?
Yes it pops up at the very top of the page when I try to run it and the rest of my site appears below.
